Just clipped Casran's nails.

Much unnecessary melodrama ensued.

The whole thing took about 30 seconds but resulted in a colossal rage.

I tried to capture it on camera and Casran ran across and tried to attack the camera mid shot - which resulted in this photo of his teeth trying to bite the camera lense...

He's calmed down now and is sitting next to me on the sofa. But I'm still getting the one-eyed glare...

Ah dear what a stressful thirty seconds

I know :-(

All joking aside, it breaks my heart actually.

I do everything by the book ... he's wrapped in a snuggly towel, and I swiftly snip the tip off each nail - miles from the quick. But he squeals like I'm murdering him and flies into this red-blooded bull like rage. At least it passes quickly (he's trying to eat the laptop while I type!). x

One of ours screams blue murder and I've never caught her quick or even gone close to it. She's a vey placid pig but one sight of the clippers and she becomes devil pig with gnashing jaws. It's a 2 person job with her and we do her first before I lose my nerve! But it's for their own good so has to be done!

I'm pleased you've posted this because sometimes I wonder what I'm doing to hurt him just because of his reaction!

I'm on my own so I've had to devised some techniques. I try not to let the clipping last too long otherwise everyone gets stressed. If I only get one foot done, I'll do another a few days later.

That's the best - litte and often .

I'm afraid I've chickened out and take mine to a local rescue to get their nails clipped !

i did my first nail today ! I was being so careful, it took a bit longer than i had hoped but did it ! horrible when they squeak cos they don't like it... one did, the other just carried on eating !

Well done!

I think pretty much every guinea pig owner hates this job! x

Sorry at first picture really made me laugh, bless him. I have a piggy like this, I dread the time!

Having said that he changes completely if I give him a little chin rub lol

2 person job in this house too. Peanut shakes and rolls his eyes in fear. Spike squeaks and squirms, tries to bite whoever is holding him and pulls his foot away just as I go to cut. I end up feeling really bad for upsetting them, I don't know why they are so bad but then neither of them like being handled. I've tried bribery but it doesn't work so in the end just do it as quick as I can. The pigs I had before didn't make such a fuss these two have come as a bit of a shock!

Haha I have two massive drama queens like that! One is such a sweet girl all the time but bites and screams and wiggles when it comes to nails.

However I am luck and have 4 boys that just sit on my lap and let me do it.

That firs pic of him eating the camera is funny.

You been stink eyed!
