nail clipping time again

help!i've got to do the nails again as getting too long,now this is my worse aspect of piggy :{care!just hate it!i'm doing it tonight i'm armed with cucumber a towel and nail clippers,i've done it before just seems to take ages to get the front paws done any tips welcome!i'm all by myself as oh wont help out plus at work tonight,3 piggys in one evening i maybe up late eeeek:(
 
How often do you trim your piggy nails?
I do it roughly once a month, but my Squeek still HATES it.
He puts up such a fight for such a submissive boy!
I usually just do if quickly to get it over and done with, grab the paw and clip as fast as I can.
It is still traumatising for both of us!
 
I hate clipping their nails :-( I don't manage to do it all in one go...I do front paws one day, and reward them with a treat, then leave it for a couple of days, and do the back paws and reward them again...they hate them being done so much, and I know it must stress them terribly so I always do it in two halves...
 
Ive had years of doing it with all my different piggies past and present - some are very easy to do such as Lentil, some wiggle - like hector and some nip me like Jakey :p

Remember that they can be drama queen sometimes and will squeak even though I am being so gentle. Be sure to hold the finger as you cut the nail and obviously don't cut too short due tothe blood vessels.
 
oh my god i just thought it was me xoxo i hate doing it!it gets done roughly once a month depending on the look of nails!my cocoa is fine with back ones getting the front ones is a whole different story he pokes his paw out i get ready to trim then he whips it away!and this goes on and on and on!:)) cheeky man!i then get in a flap knowing i've got to do it all!i couldn't do it in two goes it stresses me out too much nevermind them!and the two younger boys yelp when your doing it even though I'm now where near them with the clippers!god what a night i shall have!what we put our selfs through for the piggys i might start at the front today and work to the easy ones!
 
I hate black nails! That's what stresses me out! Can't see the quick so easy and I panic :(
 
my first piggie had black nails i found having a little torch to shine on them helped. not looking forward to nailclipping of current piggles between them ther is only 2 white feet lol rest are black
 
phew just done cocoa and he has black nails on all paws,hugo done and dusted still munching on cucumber he has white nails so much easier!only ralphy to do but he is wiggley piggy poo but cant believe i've done two already and all paws.cocoa got his own back by weeing on me! pow-powpow-pow
 
Oh me, cutting piggies' nails is a nightmare. Especially my Fry's as most of his nails are black. If I have to do it on my own, I find it best to towel wrap the piggy. All my piggies are wrigglers and drama queens when it comes to cutting nails. Sometimes I end up doing it over the course of a couple of days.
