Nail Clipping

When clipping guinea pigs nails, what happens if you accidently cut too far up the nail and what should you do if it happens? I want to start doing their nails myself but I'm a little worried so want to be fully prepared with everything I need to know.

If you've cut too far that it starts to bleed, grab a damp cotton wool ball and apply pressure to the bleed, hold for a few mins untill it stops bleeding.

If you cut the quick the piggy may cry and there will be some blood but it does stop quickly! Maybe apply a little pressure but it will stop on its own.

If in doubt, cut rather too little at first than too much; you will get the feel for it after the first few times. If your piggy is very wiggly, just do as much as you can whenenver you have it out for a cuddle.
