Nail Cutting Time....

Across the south West of England; a loud sound is heard. The dominant leader of the herd; Smudge; is kicking up a fuss about having her nails trimmed.

"No! Don't cut my nails! It's scary!" And this brings on a 20 minute battle to get them trimmed without accidently getting her.

The babies' turn. Now I'm being cautious: they're going to be worse than Smudge; right?

Nope. They happily settle and let me clip their nails! And look at Smudge as if to say; "it wasn't that bad!"

I have to clip both babies nails this week. Dreading it as my boys were terrible at nail clipping time.

We always do our worst piggy first. I used to worry that her hysterical shrieks of "stop, you're killing me" might worry the others, but after wrestling with her and listening to her scream blue murder we pop her back in and the others usually surrender and cooperate. Either they realise she's just a diva, or they are so terrified they just cooperate to get it over and done with quickly

It's always the older ones that make the most fuss.... We do it to person and feed lettuce at the same time to distract

Our baby piggy was the easiest. The nails are thin compared to the older girls so we got through it really quick. Good Luck!

They hate me so much the rest of the day when I do it probably why I always do it at night haha we can all sleep it off

She gets so moody xD she tries to bite me hands and it's like Smudge just settle down and I won't accidently clip too far! I feel so guilty when I do but it's usually because she jumps and tries to get away JUST as I'm cutting! She gets lots of rewards but I still get the I hate you look xD

We are going with one claw at a time, as and when we can today! Our boys are not a fan.

Well I just clipped our baby girls nails and there wasn't a squeak from eirher of them. I'm delighted with that as I used to dread clipping the boys.

Pixel turns into the Devil-pig Incarnate at nail clipping time. She's not afraid of taking a chomp out of you at the best of times but god help you if you so much as wave the clippers at her - I've never seen such a stroppy, wriggling, bitey beast!
