So a few months ago I got a new guinea pig named Tavio. We noticed that one of his nails was really dark and it wasn't because that paw was black so the nails would be colored differently.
I was worried about it because it wiggled like a loose tooth and would bleed a little until one day it fell out.
We didn't want to go to the vet because it didn't seem to bother him too much and it didn't hurt him unless you touched it.
When it fell out it started growing back the normal color but it's a little, well, deformed.
Screen Shot 2016-02-11 at 9.08.42 PM.webp It doesn't hurt him at all and he runs around just fine on it but it continues to grow.
I looked online for stuff like this but I couldn't find anything on the subject, just tutorials on how to clip their nails.
Any advice?

Hi, l had one of those a wile ago, l just used to clip the tip off the wide nail! , it may go a bit wider, but it dident come to any halm, though l would" strongly" serjest you have it moneterd by a vet as it could get infected

It's not unusual for a nail to be thicker than the others, just keep an eye on it from now on.

It's not unusual for a nail that is injured to grow back strangely if there was any kind of damage to the nailbed with the original injury. One of my pigs accidentally ripped off a nail right at the base getting it caught in something and also had a thicker nail thereafter.
