Hi

Please can someone advise? I'm worried.

My poor Minnie guinea pig has just completely torn a nail off.
Ive placed her on a puppy pad in my bath to keep an eye on her. She is eating her herbs. The bleeding seems to have slowed.
I've made up a mild saline solution and placed her paw in it. Is there any thing else I can do for her? What do I do over the next few days? Will her woodshavings and hay cause issue to her?

Many thanks!

Don’t worry. Just keep bathing the toe in the saline solution and keep an eye out for swollaness and infection.

My Edward has done this twice now and both times, his nail started to grow back after about 6 months but be warned that the nail may grow back thick or deformed. That happened with Edward the second time but it causes him no issues
