How long should a guinea pig’s nails/claws be? My guinea pigs are rehomed ones, and their nails on their rear paws are really long - which means the ‘quick’ inside the nail is long, so I can only trim a little without hurting them, however this still leaves them with long nails - how long should their nails be? Photos would be a help! X
 
If you post a photo we can tell you if they need to be trimmed more. When you trim the quick recedes, so you can cut a bit more off.
 
Please do not force the cutting back; the more often you trim off a little, the more you can gradually work the quick back. It will however not hinder your piggies from moving around and having fun.
