Cutting nails is easy for us.. but GEEZ its annoying to clip your guinea pig's! Expecially if a guinea pig has dark nails or are completely black, it is so nerve wrecking to clip them! And what about curly ones! Wowee they are hard to clip, dont you guys think? What do you guys think about clipping nails?
 
It is hard. I get my boyfriend to hold them as it is too difficult alone. With black nails I just cut the tips off.
 
It doesn't even seem to get easier. I never do it on my own. It is worse than cutting a human baby's nails.
 
I somehow manage to do it on my own...one pig is white nailed and behaves well whereas the other is squirmy and has black nails (aaaaahhhh!)
 
It can be trickier with some piggies; especially when you get a combination of dark nails and drama queens... Nails also change when piggies get older. They tend to twist, curl or thicken more.

Just think about the 332 nails I have to do every month... ;)
 
I seem to have hit the jackpot with my two - no issues with nail clipping at all! They do have dark/black nails but I just clip the tips more often to keep on top of them. The boys are really well behaved though, there might be the occasional pulling away as we're getting into position but once the clipper's ready to go it's fine :)

Nails dont boyher me anymore. I do it alone always have it takes a while spmetimes if the monkies snatch the ir hands away but usually it goes well
