Nails

I've gotta trim my piggies nails later, is there anyway of holding them so they don't move whilst cutting their nails!? (:
 
oh my, sorry but there's no magic position. You know they're all individuals and I've found that what works with one doesn't work with the next - try a few:
sitting up with you gently holding each paw - this works with laid back piggies and is the easiest! Lying down with you working your way around; someone else holding piggie while you cut; wrapped in a towel with leg sticking out for the ones that REALLY hate it...the list is endless! ...you'll soon figure it out ...... good luck!
 
We always go for a 2 person job, I normally hold pig while Rach clips. She thinks I have the harder job keeping the victims still however I think I have it easy - I'd hate to be in charge of the cutting, I think that is the difficult bit! I'd cetainly recomend getting someone to hold if you can.

Also the use of food as a bribe, herbs are useful as they take a while to disapear into the mouth... it can provide a good distraction.

Yeah, I would proberly get my mum or my brother to help me!
I used to cut the guinea pigs ones in the college but that was like 2-3 years ago so I've forgot how to do it!
 
i tuck them under my arm... and work on the foot on the outside... then i turn them round... so on and so fourth... for the more chilled out ones i plop them on my lap and they just let me get on with it...
the wriggly ones i actually squash them.... (just a little bit)... down on to my lap... and stops them moving... dont squash them... just put a bit of pressure on them...

ive never had the privilege of having a second pair of hands to help... and ive always coped... :))

We cut Sonics Nails at home for the first time this morning
Hubby held him while I clipped with normal Nail clippers!

Went realllly well.
He never flinched and was such a good boy!

Hubby sat him sort of upright on his bottom and stroked his head and I clipped :)
