Nails

my piggies nails are sort of deformed, they kind of curl around to the side, and they are difficult to trim.
I'm frightened i mite hurt him if i trim them too short.

can you get deformed nails or is it just me.
 
The nails have started curling because they are simply too long. Get an pair of nail trimmers (I use just normal human ones from boots) and take the ends off the guineas nails avoiding the quick (the pink bit of the nail - it contains the blood supply).

If you still don't feel confident and like you will hurt your piggy pop him/her along to the vet and they will help you out and give you some advice I'm sure. :)
 
some of my pigs nails grow like that and are not particularly long so I tend to keep them at a comfortable length despite them curling back, biscuits sticks out from his foot not long but just growing wierd, all you can do is keep them at a comfortable length and make sure you have some blood stopper and cotton buds ready in case of accidents, I've got to trim floos feet later as his is starting to curl yet again not particulary long my dog max has dew claws that grow round his pad I have to snip his down to stop them curling into his pad,
 
Tonnis always grow like that. When I first got him his nails were in such state and they have always grown back at an angle so he has like flat feet. At the moment I can't trim his because he has an infection and I don't want to hurt him.

I tend to trim my lot a little at a time. But often, you can't stop them curling, even when they are short
 
Agree, with what Kelly and Michellemuffin has said. Some guineas nails do grow in an odd way and the only thing you can really do is keep the nails at a comfortable length. O0
