Just keep the name and call her Twi, then everybody is happy
I have a cat from a rescue who’s name is Nemesis (name he had when I got him)
I call him Nemi/Nem for short. Then we he does something naughty I use his full name

Once you've shortened it, it could gradually mutate into something else - Twi - twiz, twizzle, twiggy, tig, tiny, you could go anywhere with it.
