Its embarrassing but I have a guinea pig who's name I cannot spell. Really didn't think it through when we named the new ones, have to check the spelling every time I type it. :))

Poor you! The only way forward is a nickname! :(|)

I admit that I not only struggled with the Welsh pronounciation of Llewelyn for months, but also with the correct spelling, so you are not alone! At least, he had been named by a (Welsh) rescue and NOT by me!

However, I must also admit that I rather enjoy to see the receptionists and vets struggle with "Ffwlbri" (Welsh for moonshine), the name of the new Tribe top lady! :x

PS: When we got engaged, my then fiance couldn't spell my name, so I still get lots of Christmas cards with funny versions of my name... rolleyes

Being dyslexic, no matter how often I saw the names of your piggies Wiebke, I can't make sense of the names at all, lol!

I have that problem myself with my name. I'm 26 and I've never found a person who can spell my name correctly. And I don't know where my mom got it in the first place. She said somebody from another country name me. So I don't know. But my name is unique in this side of the country. My name is Greaisha Leis. So it's weird but mine. :)

It is a lovely name. I grew up with a very similar first name and surname - and have never lived anywhere near where they originate, so things have been a bit quirky at times..., like when my mail box was just above that of a Martin Wiebecke at the student's home! So far, I've only ever met one other Wiebke on person, and it was a rather strange experience!

AppleMom: great name!

My real name is an easy one and it still gets misspelled all the time. My Dutch name sounds very weird when English people pronounce it, so I made it easy for them, less frightening for me, lol, and offered the option to use my initials, which they all did.

Thank you. My name is really a good topic to start conversation everywhere I go. And people ask me where I'm from all the time. I've come across only once with a person with the same pronunciation but not at all in the same spelling. Mine is definitely unique like my self.
