Adult Guinea Pig
I am very sad to say that I had my beloved housebunny Narla put to sleep this morning. She was very bouncy and lively on Sunday night but showed signs of illness last night and was weak and had lost her spark this morning. She was around 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 years old and had lived with me for over three years since I adopted her and her husbun Norris from Freshfields Rescue in 2008.
Narla was a very sweet rabbit who enjoyed herself right up until the end of her life. She loved spending time with me when I was sewing in the spare bedroom and would often come and inspect the piles of cozies that were on the floor. Only last week a roll of fleece fell over and she had great fun jumping on and over it and doing mad laps under the spare bed.
I am so glad she knew such happiness with me and that she did not suffer for long. She had a quiet but discernable sense of humour and lit up any room with her tentative manner and beautiful looks. She leaves a widower Norris who seems quiet but is still eating.
Narla (black and white lionhead) and Norris (black Netherland dwarf) relax in their favourite spot by the radiator.
Synchronized snuggling!
