Can Piggies eat nastursiums..I know we can have them in salads but I'm unsure as to give them to my babies. my mums got a really big plant at the moment & shes offerd to cut bits off for them but I can't find them listed in any of the books I've got & I'd hate to do my piggies any harm

We also have loads of this in the garden but have never tried them on it, It'll be intertesting to see if they can:)

Just googled this ? and yahoo answers says they can but will wait for answers here since i'm not sure thats a reliable source

I feed mine it mixed in with their veggies, it is safe can't remember where I found out.

I took the chane last night & gave them some nastursiums & they wern't very impressed..they were still in the food bowls this morning

if they haven't been introduced to it when young they may not try it, when older

I've just given mine some and they were a real hit, even witth my fussy old boy it was a case of gone in 60 seconds:)), woohoo something else free to feed them.

Used to grow lot of Nasturtiums both the rabbits that were here and the pigs loved them, flowers and all.
Have some growing in a pot but not growing well this year at all probably because I haven't been weeding lol.
They do look lovely in salads, peppery.

Aside from knowing they are edible, does anyone know more about their properties. ie Should these be a once a week treat or can we bump up their salads with it on alternate days does it contain calcium etc
