Nationwide Pet Insurance?

I am in the US and wondering if anyone has an experience with Nationwide Pet Insurance for piggies?

Before losing the surrender I only had for 2 days I was already planning on getting a pair of boars and was thinking about getting them on insurance right away because the cost of the ER is so egregiously expensive right now here due to inflation and other factors. I work at an exotic vet so I get an employee discount here, but I really just want peace of mind for after hour issues or emergencies.

Anyways I’d appreciate any advice or input, I plan to give them a call for a quote, but I’ve heard good and bad things including from people here at work.

Hi I’m in the UK so can’t offer advice - I do think it’s great to plan ahead as Vet bills are very costly in the Uk for piggies and for you in the USA

As a UK based forum we can’t offer specific experience with this company but with insurance the important thing to look out for is what they won’t cover (some may not cover dental for example) and how much the excesses are going to be.

Scotty's Animals on YouTube discusses Nationwide Pet Insurance in a few of his videos and Scotty is very good at responding to questions so if you search "Scotty's Animals insurance" on YT you should be able to get in touch. He is based in Los Angeles (you may have heard of him) and does a lot of work with The LA Guinea Pig Rescue. Good luck with your search. I think for insurance you need to know how old your pet is. I don't so I don't have insurance.
