Hello! So I used to use Kaytee bedding that was white and grey, and then I switched to a different type of Kaytee natural bedding (brown) because it was a bit cheaper and I thought natural is probably better anyways. So I've been using this natural bedding for a few weeks but it is superrr hard to see the poops in it. I do a mini clean to my piggies' cage every day (picking up poops and wet spots) and I cannot for the life of me find the poops in it because it is brown, so I was thinking of switching back to the old bedding. Is it okay to use bedding that isn't natural?

Hi,
I don’t know that bedding, I’m thinking it’s a US brand? I would check the contents first as I find you can’t rely on pet shops packaging to be truthful about what they advertise on the front there suitability.

I use fleece. I try to stick to quite natural colours but that's my own preference a lot of people keep their piggies on brightly coloured bedding.

To be honest I don't think leaving old poops around causes a problem as long as you are able to clear the urine patches and keep those tender little feet dry. It's handy being able to monitor the poops but I don't watch like a hawk waiting for a dodgy one!

The 'natural' might actually just be a reference to the brown colour rather than it being more natural, if you know what I mean. They might even be dying it brown
I suspect the piggies don't have a preference so it's whatever you prefer!
