Junior Guinea Pig
Hello everyone! This summer I am going to be trying to help improve my friends outside bird aviary as it is currently lacking in a lot of things. One idea I have come up with is to use some natural wood as perches in their outside flying area. I live in the country side, and behind my house is a small wood/hilly area that has plenty of trees that I would be able to break off a few (thick) branches.
I'm wondering if I should scrape the bark off these branches or leave it on for them, and which kinds of trees would be safest for the birds? I don't believe that any of the trees have been treated with any pesticides or sprays, so would it be safe to just put them straight into the cage or to wash them somehow?
She keeps finches, java finches, has 3 budgies and 3 cockatiels if this helps.
