About two weeks ago my lovely little pigs, Gui gui and Sebastian, decided to destroy the hutch.
It started off with little nibbles on the wood but now they have started to bite off huge pieces of wood and eating it. Me and my boyfriend always make sure that they have lots of water and hay and we give them guinea food and veg, we don't want our guineas to go hungry. I'm sure they don't eat the wood because they are hungry, I've seen them with leave the hay to eat the wood. I'm starting to worry about Sebby because he is eating a lot more and a lot bigger pieces of wood then Gui is. I don't want one of my piggies to hurt himself and I also don't want to buy them a new hutch every few months.
Any tips on how to stop them doing this?
Anyone else having the same problem as me?

Thank guys for replying.
We did get them lots of chew thing but was told that the wood should splinter off and hurt them so we took them out, but we will get more if that'll help.
They didn't seen to fussed about toys when they were younger but we'll get more and hopefully that will keep away from the the wooden doors.
Thanks again. :)

Could be a vitamin definciency? I know my horses will chew wood when lacking in a certain vit. (Can't remember which!)

Make sure they are getting a wide variety of veg to perhaps make up for this lack. :) Hope you solve the problem!

Oh thank you. I don't think they have had any carrot in a few days, maybe it is something to do with that.
