Naughty Piggies Have Eaten Some Puppy Pad.. Should I Be Worried ??

So, they have been up in the loft a lot today which has a cage liner and underneath i popped a puppy pad ( the wilko's one ) just incase... Just cleaned them out for their dinner and noticed they had managed to get to it.... Worried about the fact they eaten some of it ! Gave them a stern telling off.....
 
2 of my 3 sows (the other one is an angel!) have munched on puppy pads before when the vet beds had been washed too many times and were no longer wide enough for the cage so puppy pads where sticking out the sides.. They where fine. They also both pull the puppy pads up and take a small bit out of it when they have floor time- this is them telling me they want back in! My other sow just runs up to the bed and looks at me as if to say "cmon human, take me back to my manor!". Personally i wouldnt worry too much :)
 
Apparently you have to be careful, I've just read that if they eat a lot of it that it can cause an intestinal obstruction. (I don't know, I'm not a vet, hence me tagging Wiebke in, not that Wiebke is a vet, she just knows her stuff).
 
Try not to worry, if they ate a little I don't really think it's going to cause much harm. I know some forum members have had such correx nommers and they've been ok :)
 
Mine ate a bit once and gave me a very worrying time watching to make sure they were pooing ok. They were both fine. Of course if you are really concerned you should take them to the vet but a little bit should pass through.
 
Some piggies have a knack of eating anything you don't like them to get their gnashers on! if it is the fibrous part, then there is no wrry at all. Eating anything plasticky is not quite as welcome as it could potentially cause problems down the line at some point, but you shouldn't see any problems.
 
Worst thing is, I have been in most of the day and kept looking at them all cosy in the loft together... Little did I know what they were up tooooooo !
 
there is poo in there since i cleaned them out and a good amount... just given them the new carrot topped house - maybe that will keep them busy and away from things they shouldn't be eating ! They have even been nibbling on a bull dog clip !!

Oh they scoffed all their dinner then had a good nibble on their new carrot topped house! Pippin looked really guilty.. she is the instigator lol!
