its been two weeks now since gizmo was given the snip he has been healing lovely almost 100%, now ppl always say wait 2-3weeks before putting him with females. now i really want to put him with the girls now as its been the minium wait and he is stuck in a small cage by himself and it seems like he is very lonely not to mention the tiny cage (all i had) do you believe it should be okay ive known ppl putting them back in after the op and no problem but i wanted to wait atleast two weeks. my vet said wait 1-2weeks and in australia on fb page they also said wait 2-3weeks some said 1-2weeks so i am so confused? help! can i put him in the 2by6cage with the trio and make a small herd or not lol

No one really knows how long it is until they are completely safe. I've know some rescues wait 2 weeks, some three with no problems and some up to 6 weeks. My vet recommended waiting 6 weeks as she's known a boar to manage to get a sow pregnant 5 weeks after the op. I think it's a rarity and an unfortunate one off but I personally wouldn't want to risk it myself.

well i dont think i am able t0 wait 6weeks, his cage is very small and he gets small uti's with stress. maybe ill do what someone from a facebook page (a queensland rescue for gpigs) she told me three (another said 2weeks) aaarrh confusing i just *** want my piggie stressed out anymore

Megan, please wait 6 weeks before putting him with your girls, he could still be fertile and impregnate them, which in turn would risk the females lives aswell as the babies.

Please just set him up a run or something for the time being.

do not put him back in hwith the males until at least 4 weeks, 6 weeks is best though.

is he beside the others? if not but him beside them so he can interact.

if you do put him in with them you stand a chance of all your females getting pregant, are you really willing to risk that?
