Need help desperately for some to care for my beautiful Guinea pig Bugsy in August. In Hampshire ☹️

Urgent help needed. I’m trying to find someone in Waterlooville Hampshire to care for my beautiful boy Bugsy while we go away in August and I just don’t know where to start?
He’s just turned 7 on the 24th and needs to be cared for by someone who has complete knowledge on Guinea pigs. It’s got to the point where I honestly can say I don’t want to go away now.
Basically when we got Bugsy and his two brothers in 2011 from pets at home (adopted)
We found that he’d had a broken leg whilst in there 😡 got that fixed and 7 years down the line he now has no movement in that leg and suffers badly from impaction and gas. This has really occurred in the last 10 months.
But he is doing so well for his age which sounds odd but he is. He loves his food and hay still scoots about the best he can outside his cage and gives kisses when you ask him and is so so gentle and loves his cuddles so much too.
The vet has treated him for a couple of UTI’s and recovers well and he’s heart’s good and he still weights over a kilo 😆
Oh and he’s got a cataract to but other eye is perfect. He’s such a true fighter and and tough little boy. The vet said I’m going a great job and he’s doing very well for an old boy.

I’m just so desperate for someone who can care for him for two weeks. The whole situation is making so sad

I was also going to recommend Wheek and Squeak. They are one of our recommended rescues, but run a boarding business to fund the rescue. So you get all the piggy savviness and experience, too, because they have been going for a number of years. If they are booked out already, they will at least know other places in your county that you could contact.

The two previous years he stayed with a friend from works daughter,she looked after him very well indeed ,but really doesn’t have any knowledge on all the things that’s required for him now.
 
Hi thanks. I did ask if they knew of anyone in the local area that boarded but the didn’t know of anyone. I well may ask them if any vet nurses could do that if not try other surgery’s.

Anna from Wheek and Squeak does take piggies on medication (which I know not all boarders will do). All the best!

That would be completely amazing if Wheek and Squeak have no boarding available. 😃 I I would let you know asap..There are some very kind people in this 🌍 x
 
It seems like you have a plan, but I was just going to add that my exotic vets boards piggies and keeps a very close eye on them (I get a run down on what they've eaten and drunk and what they weigh) as well as obviously being able to deal with any medical conditions. There might be some near you.

We went to Orlando to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary 6 years ago. We went with friends and did most of the theme parks and we also did Kennedy Space Centre which was A-MAZ-ING and highly recommended if you have the time!
 
So glad you were able to find a good place to board Bugsy, so you can enjoy your hols without worrying about him. I'm sure he'll have a great time too, especially meeting other piggies there.

Thanks Betsy. It is fantastic there isn’t it. This is our fourth year in row. But I’ve been told by the other half we need to leave it a couple of years 😞 to save money for a change.. we’ll see 😉 😂 done Universal sea world and Clearwater but not been to the Kennedy Space centre ever xx

It's quite pricey but well worth the price! You never think you are going to get there though as you go along a never ending straight road .........
