Well i previously used megazorb and i liked it. Only problem being the mess and the amount of black bags i went through while cleaning the piggies out. I changed to fleece for these reasons but i just dont like it. Does anyone use anything else? or anyone who uses megazorb how do they overcome the problems I'm having (if you have the same).
thanks

I have 2 big cat litter trays in the cage filled with megazorb with hay on top. I also put pigloos on each of these because they tend to pee where they lie, messy things. They do most of their peeing in there. They still poop all over the rest of the cage (which has fleece) but it's very easy to sweep off the fleece.

I use megazorb, we have the brown bins for recycling in our area and I use one black bag to scoop it into, then empty it straight out into my brown bin, no problems with bin men taking it away, cos it it only pulped wood. I find it expensive as I clean mine out every other day cos they are indoor piggys, It doesn't seem to transfer all around the house like shavings do.

I just bought some vet bed, which was a bit of an expense but it's made the house so much cleaner - well not as messy.... I can also clear the poop and uneaten food every day and the boys look fresh longer. I now have 5 pieces to use alternatively and can do onely one piggy laundry a week. The lot cost me £42 cos i got a large bit (180cm x 150cm) for £25 which was a bargain! the other one worked out a bit dearer but I'm still happy i got it all.

Don't get it from PAH where it's all cut to size, see if you can get it from liveries or warehouses.

the only problem with fleece etc is i cant get on wit it. It wont sweep any of the poo off they stick to it (even though there normal poos). It is less messy but a pain. they dont wash well either. They smells fine after washed but still have wee colour on them and dirt. It looks horrible. I clean them out every other day so it shouldnt be to tough for my washing machine. i feel stuck on what to do. i was really looking foward to using fleece but I'm not impressed :(

hi

Hi i have indoor and outdoor pigs (in a shed of course) i use the cardboard bedding for them. I have newspaper then a generous helping of the cardboard bedding. It lasts 4-5 days, they also have a litter tray with a hood and i put newspaper then hay in there and they love it. It costs me £8 a bale which weighs 23kg and it lasts approx 4 weeks and i have 6 pigs in the shed and 2 indoor ones. I use the cardboard in the shed too.

hope this helps, its kinder on their feet and lungs than megazorb.

I hated fleece and vet bed - they never seemed really clean even with changing every day.

I use either Aubiose or Dixons dustless - both are horse beddings. It does make about 3 black bags each clean out but I don't think thats bad for 8 or sometimes 9 cages!

I use nedzbed original and it is very soft quite absorbent and has a pleasant smell. Dont use nedzbed pro as it contains eucalyptus oil not good for piggiesStill needs to be cleaned out every day becuase I have so many piggies.

I have just invested in vetbed, a 5m x 1.5m roll for £40 plus £7.50 postage off eBay. I'm hoping that my two will get on well with it and that there will be enough to have two sets. It's initially quite an expense but hopefully it will be worth it. Unfortunately this vetbed is purple with white doggy paws motif - hopefully the boys won't mind it but it was cheaper than the plain stuff!

hi

i also found someone closer to me selling ecopetbeding and its the same stuff.
