Need Help Wont Eat Hay

I just adopted my guinea pig about a week ago he's about 2yrs old he was in poor condition an wasn't taken care of properly I have got all natrual Timothy Hay Cubes but he won't eat it I have even broke it up an have mixed it with his pellets an he just picks it out he will not eat it or any other treats I try to give him other than a few fresh vegetables an apples I know hay should be their main source of food but how can I get him to eat it
 
Is there a chance that you can get a friend for your guinea pig. They are best kept in pairs & when together they will naturally tend to eat more & copy as there's competition for the food on offer x
 
Some piggies won't eat the hay cubes but prefer normal loose hay. We have piggies that won't touch the cubed hay but love the normal hay.
 
Try different hays, some are better than others but piggies can be fussy and if you find one he likes it might get him started. Like @Dindypig I have also found some piggies really aren't keen on hay cubes and loose hay is much more fun for hiding and playing in so try some of that and see what happens...

Like @Stewybus says, a friend would be good too as piggies are a social species and learn most of their eating behaviour from each other. A lonely piggy will also have less drive to eat. If you post your location as part of your profile, people will be able to give you more specific advice... A decent rescue will be happy to help with any concerns you may have and help with bonding if you choose to get your guy a friend. But if you do contact them be patient waiting for replies as most are run by volunteers.
 
Have you had his teeth checked? This could explain him not eating hay.

His teeth are fine an he eats everything else I give him besides treats an the cubed hay iv even tried breaking it up bt he won't eat it iv been given him fresh grass but its winter time an its becoming hard to find so I have to try an get him to eat hay il try some loose hay maybe he'll eat that
