Specialist Need Help...

honestly, as -much- as you can get into her. she needs at least 120ml over a 24 hour period. So for me, when I am in your situation, I try to do at least 15ml every three hours. More if they will take it.

Is she taking it readily or fighting you?
She takes as many as I can give her and tries to rob the syringe.

It's really good that she -wants- to eat. Once they stop wanting food, the danger is extremely imminent. Everything you are doing for her now is about buying time to get her to a vet.

Could you maybe post some pictures of her, from a few different angles? One of her side, one of her from the top, one from face on, that sort of thing?

Yes, I'll do it.

Aaaaaaw she's a sweetheart! So beautiful. She does look quite thin bless her, how much does she weigh?

Just having a closer look at the one where she is running away, is that a sore above her bottom?
She's aprox 700g. She's a small one and I'm sure she lost some weight.
He was born with other 7 siblings. I was thought she was smaller because of that. Her brothers and sisters, wich I gave to another loving home, are also smaller then the others.
I couldnt find the sore your where telling about, maybe it's just her messy hair. haha

Maybe, it could just the way it swirls. i thought I might have been onto something there...

That is really tiny, my goodness. How old is she again, a year?

Wow... I'd expect a piggy to be a bit smaller from a large litter, yes. But she's right on the bottom of a 'safe' weight... Understandably she's lost some, but 700g is really small.

I'm still not convinced about that shadow above her bum. I think I see another between her shoulderblades. Can you part her hair and have a good look at her skin? Is there any flakeyness/white bits? Or any black specks?

Also, what is the skin like around her eyes?

I'll get my camere and take some better pictures.
She took some subcutaneous shots, but not all the way back. I'll make my best.

sure thing. Just looking at those images, I'm starting to suspect your issue is something parasitic. I could be wrong, but my gut is telling me to get a really good look at her skin.

That must be the case. The other one was losing hair from the side. I saw some blacky things on here skin, I gave her a bath with cetoconazol (ketoconozole?) and I think it's getting better. It was last week.

I am strongly starting to suspect mites. I'm not a vet, but looking at those pics and the symptoms you're describing, and the fact it started around the birth of a litter which may have caused a bout of stress for her, I'm leaning towards it heavily.

Does she have anything that looks like dandruff? Is she scratching a lot?

I can be wrong, but I never saw her scratching herself heavily nor noticed anything that looked like dandruffs.

I´ll keep trying to take better pictures.
I noticed something next to her shoulder where my fingers were on the second picture. It's a bony thing that I couldnt feel on the other side. Maybe because the way she was standing and its a bone.

Can you help me to treat it?
The other one is infected, I'm treating with the cetoconozal shampoo I told you.

You can try topical treatment. The issue is depending on it's severity, it may become systemic. but certainly, you can try topical treatment first.

The shampoo you are using is the correct drug. The problem is, shampooing is not going to be enough. Really, you are going to have to soak her in the shampoo, then pull out the hairs in the infected areas. It's a tough but necessary job.

Have a very good read of this page:

Guinea Lynx :: Fungus

Also, hygiene is -absolutely- essential. You're in for several weeks hard work. Their going to have to have their cage cleaned every single day. You can clean it down with a mixture of hot water and white vinegar, which is an excellent anti fungal surface cleaner. You're going to have to be extremely hot on your own hygiene too in terms of handwashing etc to ensure that you don't recontaminate. Change your clothes whenever you handle them and put them striaght in the wash. Keep them confined to one room. Check all pigs for symptoms, fungus is very very contagious so they may all have it.

Honestly, I do really strongly feel she needs to see a vet. For two reasons: I am not a vet and she may need oral treatment if the topical doesn't work.

But I think we may have cracked the problem, at least to the best of my experience.

Just prepare yourself that bathing her may be extremely difficult. She may have a fit, depending on the level of discomfort she is in. Do you have a second pair of hands to help you?

Thank you! Let's hope there problems are done.
Thanks for all the help! You really helped me a lot. The worst thing is not to be able the little guys.
You are such a good and helpful person, you deserve the best in your life!

My father and my girlfriend are in it with me. I'll bathe all 6 of them.
And I'll try to make a new cage to them, I think this one is not helping. It's made of wood and I think it gets lots of humidity. Thats why the fungus!
