Hi all my 4 piggies are in door piggies this afternoon since shutting our doors and windows we have had to get rid of around 8 wasps now I'm concerned that we have a nest in the brickwork of our house and they are getting in somehow I'm worried as A) I don't want my piggies to get stung B) I have no idea how to treat my piggies if they do get stung and C) I'm allergic to bee and wasp stings so any advice would be great thank you x

Get in touch with your Council if you think you have a wasps nest and they should come out and deal with it.

Yeah we are calling them first thing in the morning just worried about if my piggies get stung I don't know what to do x

Can you temporarily put a light cover over their cage - something like a cotton sheet - just until you get rid of the wasps.
Be careful yourself if you’re allergic to the stings

I agree a light cover or netting should help keep the wasps from getting close to them. However wasps generally only attack if they feel threatened so should really bother with the piggies. Take care of yourself though and keep your distance

You could also put some honey in a corner of the room away from the pigs to keep them away. :)

My Mum used to make a wasp trap to put near the compost bucket outside. She half filled an empty jar with water, put a some honey or jam on the inside and then put the same on some foil. Put the foil on top of the jar and secured it with a rubber band then put some pencil holes in the foil. The wasps could get in through the foil holes but couldn't get out and drowned in the water.

Oh yes you can get bee friendly wasp catchers, they have an open bottom with a lip inside. Put something sweet and sticky in and then wasps fly in and get stuck but bee's can't fly directly upwards so can't get caught. Ought to get another couple this year

Thank u all for your help I've found a thin cotton sheet to lightly cover my piggies and I'm going to leave the fan on them all night so they stay cool me on the other hand is going to be a nervous wreck all night lol I love summer but hate wasps the most x
