Needed- Idiots guide to clearing impaction!

Hi all,

You helped me identify that my darling Jasper has impaction problems. And there was a couple of useful links. But i could do with a more in depth, step by step guide to clearing it. At the mo i think i am only getting the end cleared as i dont know how else to do it. Jasper is happy for me to hold him like a baby when i do it but it doesnt feel secure. How do i hold him?
Can anyone help? Feel free to type instructions as though i am stupid :laluot_08:

I used to hold them across my wrist/hand lengthways (actually lying on your arm, palm up) with butt over hanging (so you've got their bum in your hands and you can hold them still) then gently manipulate the poops out.... then i'd wipe their butts with a clean cloth to get any of the remaining smudged poops :x

I'm getting better, its just practice i suppose. It wasnt as bad today and i wonder if its because he actually tucked into his veggies last night, I think a combination of the antibiotics and feeling poorly (making him not eat much) has caused it. Hes much happier today, on the mend so hopefully thats the end of the grotty botty !
