Hello everyone,
I have 2 male guinea pigs and they are both a year old now. They are fine together which is good but I just bought a New Guinea pig and he’s 4 months old, I’ve been doing the bonding steps and making them meet etc I just put the little guy in the bigger cage with the others and both of the adults started to hump and block the little guy. I took the little guy out and now they’re humping each other...

Unfortunately you cannot keep three male piggies together - boars need to be kept in pairs only. Adding a third boar to an already bonded pair will cause the newcomer to not be accepted but it also has the potential to cause the original pair to fall out. You will have to see how the original pair go and whether they can reestablish themselves as a pair again and if they still want to be together. Hopefully they will sort things out and they can remain together.

The most common situation after attempting a boar trio is that you will end up with a pair and a single. For now, I would keep the four month old in a cage on his own but keep his cage next to the older pair so he has interaction through the bars so that he doesn’t get lonely.
Keep an eye on the older pair and see if they can sort themselves out and want to remain together. If the pair does stay together, then your youngster will ideally need a new friend of his own to live with. Living as a single piggy with neighbours absolutely fine, but he is young so giving him the opportunity to find a live in friend would be best. A rescue centre can help you find him a new character compatible companion and as they choose each other, you can be guaranteed a good bond. If you buy a new piggy friend for him on spec from a pet shop for example then there is always going to be a risk that they may not be compatible and therefore won’t bond.
If the older pair decide they don’t want to be together anymore, then you can try one of your older piggies with the younger piggy and see if they will form a pair. If so, then your older piggy can live as a neighbour with the pair, again with the potential of going boar dating at a centre so he can also find his own new character compatible friend.
