We gave plenth of hay food fresh food water both were eating n drinking we are gob smacked n upset .....any light o. This issue would help greatly.xx

Poor piggies! The fact that they hadn't eaten from Sunday to thursday, along with any underlying issues they may have had, I think that made them pass away. Even if they were eating and drinking, I'm sure they're bodies would have been very weak.... R.I.P trio.

aww poor little things, what they must have gone through, thank god they knew some kind of care and love at the end, so sorry it was too late for these three xx

RIP little ones. Hope you are all together over the Bridge now....so sorry...x

Poor piggies. At least you could care for them at the end of their little lives & I'm sure they felt loved. I recently rescued a cat who was too far gone to help, and I was devastated but at least she was safe and warm at the end. :(x>>:rose

Those poor little things! I'm wondering if the days without food caused gut stasis... judging by the one that passed away first, it sounds like some disease process was in play too. At least they had some love and security in their last days. People who treat animals like that make me so mad!

Oh how wrenching 8...

Gut stasis is a killer.. it may be possible with a long history of malnutrition that ulcers could lead into scepticaemia. I think its the cholstridium (could be wrong) that are hugely invasive if there are blockages. They take over where commensal / digestive bacteria are overwhelmed. Any food they did eat would just sit there are go nasty inside them.

Were they on anything like infacol / emeprid to move the gut contents along as food was being re-introduced?
