Needs some advice please

As most of you know I'm picking my two new guinea up tomorrow. The journey is really long for them and i want to make it comfortable. However there no room in the car except on my lap.
What is the best thing to carrier them in? You can buy the port-a-pet boxes from pets shops for like £3 but will it be to dark for them? I wanted to get a cat carrier but dont have enough money :(
I dont know what to do.
Any advice?
 
As guineas love to hide up anyway I think the £3 ones will be ok. Are they the cardboard ones? This is what I use mostly anyway except when going to the vets.

How far are you travelling? :)
 
Put a thick layer of newspaper in the bottom or you may end up with soggy legs :(|)
 
LOL thats true! Newspaper and hay they will be fine like that! :)
