As it is Burns' Night today, i'm cooking Haggis, tatties and neeps.

Just wondering if i can give the peels of my suede (:)>>> just bought it for OH...) to my piggies?

fair enough. We'll try and see if they are Mummy's boys or Daddy's boys...:)):)):))

:laluot_20::laluot_20::laluot_20: daddy's boys...:)>>>

it's like oats and black-pudding. it's nice. I think it's the way it's made that puts people off. As it is offal, it can seem a bit repugnant, but it doesn't taste like tripe or such niceties, just really oaty and wholesome. i've had it with chicken and creamy-whisky sauce in Scotland on banks on Loch Ness, very authentic...drool
BTW, I AM French, so I am used to eating strange foods...

Haggis isn't that bad actually - it is just how it's made that is off-putting. Now, that I'm veggie - I won't be eatting it but you can get veggie ones.

I've never liked neeps though - so I always had haggis, carrots and tatties!

Haha I'm an egg and chips kind of girl! :) My grandfather worked in an animal slaughterhouse in Liverpool in the 70's (I know, I know) and he used to come home with some strange things! Although it did put him of certain meats so I wonder if he saw some nasty goings on there!

Enjoy it anyway! x

Haggis is one of the tastest things on the planet. Unfortunatly we're not having it tonight, cos my dad wanted roast beef and threw a hissy fit when I suggested we didn't have a sunday dinner. grrrr But thats a whole different rant!

Theres a restruant chain near me that does little haggis parcels in this incredibly cripsy pastry, the type that spring roles come in, with a whiskey dipping sauce. Thats just so...so yummy.

Haggis is all about the spices in it. ^_^ Everyone should try it at least once - the veggie version is *just* as tasty as the meaty kind.

And I love neeps and tatties, well tasty!

the haggis is no more... It's been wolfed down although it took me 1.30 hrs to finish it... I fell asleep in the middle (ate in front of the telly)... I kinda feel like I have a small sheep bulging out of my stomach, but it was yummy!

The crispy pastry is filo pastry, available in all good supermarkets. I had those parcels once for Hogmanay with plum/chili sauce, scrumptious... I just thought boiling it was slightly healthier. Actually I just boiled every thing today, tatties, neeps and green beans as well as the Haggis
