I am so anxious right now. I have an anxiety disorder and my other piggy Martin has been ill for about a week with excess gas and a UTI, he's on antibiotics and so far has had to go the vets twice, and I have to call tomorrow to buy more of the antibiotic because my partner spilt it everywhere so now we don't even know if we have enough for today's dose. Talking to strangers, especially on the phone, are huge triggers for my anxiety, and this is all in a foreign country where I don't speak the language fluently and have no idea about the competence of the vet. And now, my other piggy Nelson has diarrhea, which I've just spotted because of spot-cleaning his cage. :'(

It is a normal colour, and not water, but very soft poops so they looked normal then I touched them and then just squished into like a paste, and there are some patches of bits of like a paste on the fleece and him. It smells awful. I just cleaned him up with a babywipe as he had it on his tummy, feet, around his bum and genitals, and his mouth. He didn't eat his pellets when I gave them a few hours ago, but he ate his veggies normally this morning and is eating hay normally, and also chewing more often on carboard things. His fur is all fluffed up which is worrying me a little, although earlier both of them did so I'm not sure if it's illness or not. He has been lazing around and sleeping a lot this afternoon, but so has Martin, that's their usual routine. I have no idea what could have caused the bad tummy.

I know to not give him any veg this evening, just hay, but I don't know what else I should do? I have leftover probiotic that was for Martin that you put in the water, shall I put that in, would it maybe help his tummy? Shall I syringe him water, as I don't think he's drinking enough considering? Shall I call the vet tomorrow morning and book an appt as soon as I can or should I wait a bit longer? So upset and stressed, my poor babies sick one after the other :( I feel like such a bad piggy mummy, I try my best to keep them healthy and happy and they're both ill!

Sorry, your thread moved down the page and has been missed. How is he today? yes definitely give the probiotic but I would syringe it (mixed up according to the instructions) directly into his mouth not in his water bottle. If you can syringe him water too that would be great. If he is still the same today he will need to see a vet. Has he had anything new to eat? He is chewing on cardboard as when pigs have an upset tummy they tend to eat cardboard more.

He has been eating hay quite well and drinking quite well, but not eating any pellets. He ate most of a little treat I gave him earlier. This evening his poops have got harder and now most of them are slowly resembling something vaguely like a normal poop, so fingers crossed he is recovering! I did call the emergency vets last night as he didn't seem well at all but the vet told me as he was still eating hay he would be ok until today, and then this morning he seemed quite a bit better in himself so just been watching him and now his poops are getting better too.

Will syringe him some probiotic after I have my tea, I didn't want to do it without someone telling me in case it would make him worse or something I wasn't sure what to do :/ Is he allowed any veggies at all even a tiny bit? Should I syinge him some mushed up pellet mix with water because I'm concerned that he hasn't eaten any all day?

Oh and he had a tiny bit of carnival squash for the first time the other day, but it was only a few bites because he didn't like it, and Martin ate lots more of it as he did like it, so I doubt it would be that. Apart from that though I have no idea what could have upset his tummy :S

I've just had a look in the cage and noticed there are now no normal poops, Martin is having very soft poops that are still poo shaped but very soft. He is still eating fine though (hay and pellets and he had veg this morning too). Which I guess means I should take them both to the vet tomorrow in case it's some kind of infection or something that they both have? Martin is on antibiotics but considering they both have it I doubt it's that.

It's possible it is the squash if Martin is now having funny poos too but you're right to get them checked out.

I didn't take them in the end because I woke up this morning and Nelson's poops were normal although a little soft, and Martin's were squisher and a bit misshappen, but they are both clearly on the mend now, and Nelson is eating his pellets again now. They definitely won't be having any squash again :S Thanks for your help :)
