Hey!
So the boys seem to be doing ok...theyve been humping each other, awkward explaining that one to the kids but found some really helpful tips on here. They are still skittish when it comes to picking them up and wont be held long without trying to make a run for it. One actually nipped me today but it was gentle, more like a warning i guess? Turns out they dislike cabbage of all types so still trying a few different things. Cucumber was very popular but read its not reccomended often. They are jumping alot too which is amusing, wondered if thats just playing?

Hi Emily, the jumping sounds like popcorning, and is the sign of a very happy piggy. Young piggies do it a lot, some keep doing it, others do it less as they get older - it is really funny to watch. They will take their time getting used to you - mine still run away when I try to pick them up. Guinea pigs are a prey animal, and coming at them from above is like a large bird coming to take them away to eat them, so it's only natural they'll run! They'll get happier being handled as they grow to trust you. Just pick them up for a minute at first, then build it up. Good luck!

I have just adoped 3 young head tilt boars from p@H, l don't think they have been fed any other veggies, so l am using this to help get them used to me,
Tempting them with new (to them) veggies is an excellent way of getting them to trust me!
I tempt them with all types of vegetables but I don't let them have any till they approach me and take the food for them selves! They have only been with me for a short wile but they are already beginning to show signs of becoming tame
