It's Wiebke (spoken like "Veebka") - that's why I use Vicky with strangers.

I'd have pronounced that webkey :red

It's certainly different, well I've never heard it before. Very nice though :)

i really do love your piggies they are beautiful, ok i am going to embarress myself now i thought your last name was Wiebke lol i felt to silly to ask if it was you first name or surname:red lovely name btw x

No, Wiebke is my first name...

My girls are coming along fine - as long as I work around picking them up with my hands! But they are getting the hang of the "shuttle pigloo", thanks to their greedy little guts!
They have started to wheek for food, getting naughty on their walkies around the room and were OK with a cuddle session on the bed... Little Nia is the bolder and the more active of the two and has been pocorning in the cage. Nerys is a bit of scaredy pig who takes sudden fright at the smallest movement or sound... and then both dive for cover. But they pop out again pretty quickly now!

My maiden surname is "Wiese" (German for meadow). I have kept it as my middle name.
Wiebke is a regional name in northern Germany where my parents are from and - at the time I was born in Switzerland - still intended to return to, only somehow that never happened and eventually we applied for Swiss citizenship. But, yes, "Wiebke Wiese" is quite special - but also VERY confusing on occasion, both back in Switzerland as here in Britain!

Wiebke is the endearment of a Germanic name that starts with "wig" = fight, battle (like the end in Hedwig). My brother is Henning (from Henry or John) and my sister Meike ("little Mary").

Family history is always interesting, though with two lost world wars, it can be haunting if you have German ancestors; they have paid a high price for what they have done, or what has been done in their name.

But Germany is a beautiful country!
