nettles

I have a bark covered area at the back of the garden fenced off ready for chickens to arrive later in the year, we're going to let it grow mostly wild and have 4 fruit tree's as well. The chickens will be eating away at weeds etc and I noticed some nettles growing and wondered if they were safe for guinea pigs to eat. Will be growing our own veg from this year so they will have lots of homegrown stuff but don't want to waste anything if possible. They had a dandelion leaf each today as well.

I'd be interested to know the answer to this too, I saw *** a bag on Selective Science was Nettle and Dandilion flavour, ans have been wondering ever since ;p

Would nettles not sting them unless boiled? I think they would sting their mouths as they are...

I think they can eat nettles, i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong

My piggies have a patch of nettles in their runabout area but they never touch them just nibble around them ,then I have to pull them up ( the nettles that is!) Sure enough they grow again each year.
