Hi everyone,

just found this group and hoping for some positive advice.* Peanut is currently at the vet* So my daughters found her piggie Peanut lying on his side chirping. Front legs looked like he’s trying to run and he’s quite docile. Laying still but chirping when fussed, head tilt every now and then. But he appears quite sensitive around his back and abdomen when being stroked. He was let out yesterday and was running around peeing and pooping as usual.Had a spell of not eating much but then he’s been eating better recently. Got his favourite food.
vet thinks it’s neurological and possibly that he’s not being peeing properly and could be to do with toxins in the body. She’s started him on some pain killers and fluids to see if that helps. Anyone been through similar? Sat waiting by the phone for news.

How has he been weight-wise of late? Losing weight, maintaining or gaining a little? I would switch to weighing daily at the same time to monitor it. If he’s losing weight every day then you will have to step in and syringe feed him.

Otherwise I don’t really know. Let us know what else the vet says.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately we had the call from the vet to say he passed away peacefully. The vet thinks his sperm ducts were blocked and blocked his urine output which then sent the toxins to his brain, The vet said he died peacefully which we are glad of. Such a young boy too, always chattering away and coming for chin runs. He will be running over rainbow bridge with his brother Geordie 💙

I’m so sorry you’ve lost your little piggie, sending hugs x
Sleep tight Peanut 🌈
