Goldie
Adult Guinea Pig
I am posted this on behalf of a work colleague of my eldest daughter.
This lady had two boars, one passed away and she thought rather than introduce the one left alone to another boar, she would have him neutered and get two young sows for him as companions.
Anyway, she did this but when she introduced him to the sows he started biting them and pulling out their hair aggressively. She separated them.
Obviously, the boar is an adult and the sows are smaller and younger, so my advice to her was to wait until the sows were a little bigger, then try on neutral territory and gradually to introduce them again.
I hope I was right on my advice to her. Has anyone ever had this happen before, because I haven't? My neutered boars have always been placid and very acceptable to companions.
