No where or one irl to share my excitement with but I do like to share it nonetheless.

After a year of joy and but also sadness with my piggies, I do feel my life all the better for my little wheekers!

The original dream was a herd lead by a neutered boar, but do want to home piggies for the better of their lives!

I have found the neutered boar! Oh he may not come out as top pig but I think he will enjoy his time with my sows. Still 2 separate pairs by the way!

But, my happiness continues, of course this boy does not come alone, but with his partner, a sow. So I am going to for sure have these 2 in with my sheltie and her companion. The pair I got NYE I am not sure if to bond yet into the herd but will definitely go for the foursome.

No downside, these 2 are both basically guinea pig cousin It, if know Addams Family. Peruvian and a Coronet, keeps me busy attending to the coats!

I do love all my piggies for who they are, on a bonded personal level I have found the strongest bond between me and my sheltie and this is likely because I do groom her regular as I feel she needs, checking all is well for her coat. Short haired and funky can let them be in this regard. These are both circa 1yr too so older than my girls.

When I retire i'm going to go back to the country, get a small holding and continue to provide sanctuary for piggies away from the world. I'm convinced they are not originally of this world, their many different sounds and personalities no other animal to me comes close.

of course photos will be shared when I get them, long as everything goes/stays on track!

Exciting news - I do hope the bonding goes well for your piggies.
Just remember depending on where the 2 new piggies are coming from they will need to be quarantined before being introduced to the others, and it also never hurts to have a back up plan in case things don't go as well as you hoped.
I don't want to be the voice of doom and gloom, but sometimes piggies can have their own very clear ideas about who they will and won't live with!

:agr: I hope everything goes well with the bonding.

In the world of piggies we expect the unexpected! Unfortunately this pairing didn't work out, I guess I jumped the gun in my happiness. However I have taken on a piggy family instead, 2 sows and 2 boars, the elder sow is 6 months and a real big girl, there is a boar also 6 months (unrelated) there is also mum's daughter and son both 7 weeks. they are quite big pigs. They came from a family who needed to sadly part with them for personal reasons. I can tell they were well loved.

They are all home with me now, the boars are currently in dominance phase and so are the sows but the boys are being noisier at the moment, the usual chasing, mounting and so on. I will either end up keeping all my pigs in pairs or neuter the boars and pair off with a couple of girl pairs!

my piggy family is now:

Harmony(sheltie sow), Amelia(short haired self sow), Chica(Abyssinian sow aka big mama), Eloise (short haired sow), Peyton(Aby sow, Chica's daughter), Erin(sow-ball of fluff) and 2 then the boys Nino (Aby-boar) and unnamed boar - son of Chica and Nino

here's to the next 5 years and beyond with my piggyfam p.s. boy seems harder to name than girls idk why

Would love to see photos of your new herd, so glad it’s all worked out well for you 😊

This all looks very promising ☺️ They sound like they are all settling in together
