Please tell me if I'm in the wrong section and/or I've worded things wrong :)

Should I be cleaning Ginny's anal sack seeing as he's neutered? I can't pull the folds back but don't want to risk impaction. I also can't seem to erect his penis? I'm not sure at all if it's because he's neutered.

Neutered guinea pigs don't have a large anal sack, as they don't have their testicles anymore. They usually don't need a clean out. ;)

You can extrude the penis by GENTLY pressing on the sides next to it. It takes a bit of practice. Try again tomorrow.

I have a male guinea pig who was neutered when he was 1 years old and he's now 5.5 years... I have never once needed to clean his anal sac thankfully! I did have another male who struggled after the neutering op and I did have to clean his... definitely not a pretty sight/smell

Thanks. Just realised, should I be cleaning the girls? I know about boars but didn't think once about girls being cleaned :mal:
