Neutered Boars And Boar Glue

Can a neutered boar still produce boar glue (albeit without sperm...I hope!)?

I ask because Treacle (neutered boar, rescue) has been enjoying himself with Ruggles (sow) this morning and she has what looks like boar glue around her bottom. They have been in the cage together for a week and my guess is that she is on heat today as we haven't had this much humping before. He is just over 7 weeks post op now. My last 2 neutered boars weren't into humping once they were neutered, and lived with sows too. Treacle is definitely neutered and my vet has had a look at him.

Yes, neutered boars can still produce boar glue (I found a rather spectacular specimen on my lady Nerys' nose once) and they can still crank out any amount of testosterone-laden pee when they get excited... The only thing that does no longer work after 6 weeks is the tadpoles stuck in the tubes.

Woohoo...lucky sows! Thanks for that.

We did have the experience of strong boar smell, with rather unattractive bottom opening, when we first got him (nearly 4 weeks post op) and in smelling distance of the sows...but thankfully that has stopped now!

Oh yes, my neutered boar makes sure his ladies are 'seen to' when in season and I find the odd bit of glue!

I wonder why my first 2 boars didn't do that! Humbug got glue over Scruffy's back before they were "done".
