Hey,
I was thinking of getting a male friend for my currently lone pig as I can’t find any female the same age as her.
I would get it neutered. Do they normally fight together more than 2 females? Or is it okay?

I had a boy and three girls, they got on brilliantly. I've since lost two of the girls, the remaining girl and the boy are very close.

My group usually centres around 1 neutered boar. I have up to 3 sows with 1 boar at any time. The sows will not fight over the boar but you can't guarantee two sows will get on even with a boy on hand

Usually a male and female get on well but not always. Ideally adopt a neutered boar from a rescue and ask the rescue to organise date between the boar and your piggy. Bonding follows the same principles as for same sex pairs, in other words using neutral territory.
If you are getting the boar neutered yourself please wait 6 weeks before introducing them or else a pregnancy may result. You can have them in adjacent cages so they get to know each other. Good luck

I have been the luckiest piggy slave in the world when it comes to adopting boys from rescue. Both have come from @pig in the city at BARC and have been the biggest, friendliest, and most easy going boars that I've had the fortune to care for. ;)

I have 2 boars currently with ladies and they get alone brilliantly!

I have several groups with one neutered boar to 1 to 3 sows.once acceptance has happened they are usually the most stable of bonds.i have witnessed a fight between a dominant sow and a laidback boar,Evie knocked Jerrys head ,and then proceeded to have a whirlwind fight.Poor Jerry ended up with a fracture jaw.nine months of dental work and syringe feeding.i had to split them.recently a neutered boar and sow decided that they no longer liked each other, again this proceeded to a lock on fight.i have placed her in Carltons group and he ensures that this sow knows her place !it is very unusual that a neutered boar and sow does not get on .I agree with pig in the city that it is beneficial for your female to go dating at a reputable rescue !i hope all goes well.:)
