Ryou is being neutered this Tuesday but I wondered how big I should make his cage? I know it shouldn't be too big as he will be healing. Currently hes in a four foot by 3 foot CC cage by himself so should I make it smaller?

I've already bought towels ready and have critical care in case anything goes wrong.

I was also wondering when abouts I can put Sakurai in the same room? Obviously I won't do it the first week he is healing but I just wonder when they can be neighbours so they get used to one another before the initial meet.

He should be fine in his normal size cage, I would make sure he has a nice comfy bedroom area though and remove any houses or ramps he likes to jump on and off for the first week. It is important to keep animals warm for the first 24 hours after an anaesthetic so if you have a snugglesafe I would pop that in with him too.
When you take him in for his op take some of his favourite veg in with him too, when he comes round he is more likely to be tempted by this than dry food and the moisture in the veg will benefit him too. Piggies are usually worried when in strange environments and tend not to come forwards to drink.
It should be fine to put your other piggie in the same room after just a few days if every thing is going well with Ryou. Is Sakurai a lady pig? If so you will need to keeep them apart for a minimum of 6 weeks to avoid the possible risk of pregnancy.

Thank you. He has no ramps anyway but hes my little circus pig and likes to walk on his hind legs and jump on things to balance on them for fun. I'll take out his tunnel he likes to balance on top of.

He has a snugglesafe he adores that he also likes to jump on top of. I'll put that in too. He enjoys sitting on top of it even without it being warm. He likes being up high.

Thank you. I'll do that and put some pepper in for him as its his favourite as well as some green beans.

Yes Sakurai is his soon to be wife pig. That's why I am going to keep her separate so he can't get to her until he's better. I had planned to keep them next to each other but with divide. That should be okay right? He can't get her pregnant through the bars...?

No, he can't get her pregnant through the divider (ideally not a solid panel, but bars or grids) and they will be fine becoming friends through the bars. The eventual bonding will go a lot better when they can safely interact in the weeks before, but you need to make sure that he cannot get around the bars/grids!

Operation scars knit off in between 10-14 days of the operation.

Oh good. I'm relieved to hear that. Yeah I thought them seeing one another first would make it smoother, thats why I wanted to do it.

Ohh so roughly 2 weeks. Thank you. :)
