:)p we have a 10 week old (roughly) boar, who is not with any other guineas at the mo ....he is next to a boar and his 2 sows (all spayed/neutered)
we have been told various things about when to neuter him...one said so long as he weighs 800g or is 6 mths old.the others say 6 mths...i want him to be bonded to at least one sow (of a similar age) as i know how important it is for them to have company.
when can he be neutered ? how long after the neuter will he be ok with a sow? i know its best that she is done too but i dont want the amorous acts to annoy her to the extent that she hates him:))
is there a really good guinea vet in the kent area? we dont mind travelling further ie sussex. we have seen on here that meopham is good or the cct.
we have 3 in our area that are grrrrgrrrr!
we have taken our other boar to chris n titch in hastings whom everyone says are fantastic..they mot ed all 4 guineas for us and tooth trimmed those who needed it.the boar ,fudge, is staying there as he has an abscess that needs treatment .they really know about guineas!

Hi, my vet who has proved great with our guineas over the years insists the boar has to be at least 6 months to be neutered.

I'm also in Kent where abouts are you?

I thought around 6 months old. Sorry but I'm not sure how long he should be left before having new cage mates.

Sorry forgot to add drying out period after the neuter is generally 4-6 weeks
