Christian and Dennis say life is even more complicated when you share 3 wives!Theo is almost 1.1kg and 10 months old and he sends his congrats to Burnie on his successful neutering and future marriageTheo loves being married but he says if you marry 4 ladies and can smell another secret one somewhere in the hooman's house then husboar life can get quite complicated... hopefully 1 wife is quite straightforward!
Let me know how it goesI’m bonding two boars today!
So far, so good! There was a bit of chasing to start with, but it’s all settled down now xLet me know how it goes![]()
Let me know how it goesgood luck.
Does one boar and one sow have the highest success rate?
what was the outcome for your two boars ?Personally I find boar/boar bonds the easiest, then neutered boar/sow. Sow bonds can either be easy or a nightmare!
when it comes to the bonding day, should i bond on fleece the same size as the new cage is going to be?There's always a risk a bond won't work but neutered boars and sows have a higher success rate. I don't think you're going to have any problems with your two. It sounds like they're desperate to be together
They're still together! There has been some chasing, but it's looking very positivewhat was the outcome for your two boars ?

I use step stools, so they can hide under them but escape from all sides.Yes, so long as you’re bonding them in nuteral territory with a big pile of hay. If you want to give them hides, make sure theres more than one enterance.

Thats brilliant! So are these to going to be rehomed? They're still together! There has been some chasing, but it's looking very positive
I will have a freshly washed fleece, folded to the size of the new cage, with a perimeter fence of some sort, and I'm going to get a couple of boxes with 2 holes in each to cut out.Yes, so long as you’re bonding them in nuteral territory with a big pile of hay. They belong to someone else, but I offer a bonding service, as part of my pet business.Thats brilliant! So are these to going to be rehomed?

The look happy near eachother. I'm concerned on burnies teenage attitude with the bonding, thats my only negativeHere are the two I’ve bonded today! View attachment 100835
One week tomorrowbetter start getting the new cage sorted
This will be my first time having two pigs live together. I had two boars in the past that had to be split.
Ive never fealt like a proper guinea pig person before because of this. I hope it works!
No more boredom for dot and burnie
I will try and video some of the bonding. I'm hoping it happens on friday, but my work has got really busy because of the time of year so fingers crossed.I’m excited for you![]()
