Neutering

I dont know where to get my two boys neutered - the only two vets by me are over £63 to get them done and haven't done any neuturing on piggies! I can't drive. I want to put the dad with his daughters and girlfriend, but louis the ginger one is hiding quite a bit and i think he might be lonely - if i got him done could i take one of the girls out from the four girls and try her with Louis? - he didn't get on living with any other males, so thats why he lives on his own - only thing is i dont want to pay £130 to get them done, it just seems a lot of money
 
my local RSPCA is newport and I'm outside Cardiff but the other way to Newport, maybe I should just ring them and ask
 
yeah that's very expensive. I would ring round other (competent) vets for prices. Can you take a taxi if it was for a special trip?
 
I could get a taxi, but as the next nearest vets to us is Cardiff, it would cost me around £30 in taxi fairs - I'll ring my local RSPCA and see what they suggest.
 
I am sorry I think got really confused here - I hadn't rung my other vets which I take the dogs too for a while, and i just rung them again to retry them and she said not is only £41! and they have netured piggies before, so that's sorted!
 
The vet at this other vets is going to check over Louis first to make sure he is healthy, cose he was on antibotics with baytril but is still making that funny noise again, but if they are happy with him, then he is getting neutered this Monday coming in the morning with Coco the father of the girls - fingers crossed it will go ok Monday, as I have never had piggies neutered before. I am off all next week, so if all goes well with their operations, then I shall be home for at least 3/4 days to make sure they are ok. Thanks for your replies.

The woman on the phone at the vets said that she has a female piggy who is living on her own and needs a home to share and was thinking whether maybe to house her with Louis in a few weeks time so he has someone to live with - though his cage is a nero 3, so would have to make bigger...but other half has now said I am not allowed to buy any more cages :-/
 
spoke to the other half about this female piggy and we are going to pick her up Wednesday from the vets - we are going to rearrange the cages around so all the piggies have enough room when the girl moves in with the boy - going to keep her in run cage for quarantine period. Shes black and tan colour. The woman said that cos she had babies and now the babies have gone the piggy is on her own - cos the piggy lives out the back, the dog actually got hold of the piggy (don't know how exactly) and punchered her leg - this has been treated, but she said she knows the piggy is lonely and it's not fair on the piggy. She doesn't' want any money for her, but hearing that about the dog and the dog keep pestering the piggy still, though can't get hold of it again I felt dead sorry for her. If she can live with Louis in a few weeks, that would be great.
