I never planned on taking on another piggy after adopting our older girls, but we fell in love with this little piggy, whos mummy wasnt able to look after him anymore due to ill health. Meet Boris :) hes about a year old, but yet again, we have adopted a piggy that has no companions :( hubby says no more till the girls have passed (they are quite old ), but i can get a friend for him after that. The thing is, he has the chance to go and live with some other males that reside at my daughters school. what would you do? have him done and hope that he gets on with the girls? let him go and live with the males at the school? or hold on to get him a companion?

He’s adorable.
I would have thought a good solution would be to get him neutered then he could live with your girls.
Personally I don’t like the idea of pets in schools as they get passed from pillar to post at weekends and holidays.
He would have a much more secure and comfortable life if you can keep him

Thank you, I see your point. I was just worrying about him being lonely first and foremost, but you're right of course. i shall look at getting him booked in with our vets. They have a guinea pig specialist vet there, so i know he will be in god hands . Can just ask something else... you say that its better to keep them close? is that to let them get used to each others smell? at the moment, if he catches a wiff of the girls, he goes absolutely bonkers lol.

Get those pigs out of that school aswell lol. Might be diffiilcult

I wouldn't give him to the school. If they have a few males (or even just 2) then the chances of the school knowing what to do if they don't get on are slim. You really need someone who can look after them full time and keep an eye on boar groups.

I'd personally get him neutered and to go with your girlies. I had a similar problem and I put my boy in with my existing girlies and they all got on very well - he was the lowest ranking piggie - the girls were boss ;)
When I lost my female piggie Sakurai a year later, Eevee still had Mumen (my boy) with her. If I had gotten him a boarfriend then I'd have ended up again with the problem of a lonely single piggie again.

He's absolutely adorable :love::wub:
