I made a new pig house this week because I was planning to get another sow at some point to live with Babe and Eric (he's neutered).

Here's the new pig house:

On my way home today I popped into P@H for some tubes and accidentally acquired Sadie from their adoption section. She's about 4 mths old. I've sectioned off part of the pig house for her to live in tonight so she can get to know Eric and Babe through the mesh. Taking her to the vet tomorrow to check she's ok before actually putting them together. I think she's ok - I checked Ears, teeth, eyes, skin and feet before I bought her.

Here she is:

Eric and Babe are really curious, and Sadie's really curious about them too. They've spent all evening sniffing each other and Eric's been flirting like mad. I though Babe would be jealous, but she seems more bothered that she can't play with Sadie because Eric won't leave her alone.

Lovely cage and hopefully a happy life for sweet little Sophie!

Ahhh the old ooops I slipped 'accidentally acquired' :)) she's gorgeous and I love the new quarters:(|)

I too love the phrasing "accidentally acquired". I almost did just that the other day... Sadie is absolutely gorgeous! Nice, big cage too!

Eric makes the cage look smaller than it is cos he's so big!rolleyes
He's heavier than Babe and Sadie combined, they're 850g & 500g and he's 1400g!rolleyes

She looks lovely, when are you going to do introductions? I usually use the accidently acquired phrase for handbags shoes etc....

AWWWW Bless she's such a sweetie! When do they get to meet each other?

Aw Sadie looks lovely! Good luck getting them all introduced. Sounds like they're all very keen to get to know each other though.

I'll have to remember your phrase for future use.. hehe!

I put them together on saturday lunchtime. In the bath for a couple of hours then back in the cage (freshly cleaned).

There were a few challenges at first between all three.

Now they seem ok most of the time. There are a few squabbles between Babe and Sadie. Is this normal? Sadie pokes her nose into Babes personal space which is met by a chin butt from Babe. Also Babe's been chasing her around the cage on occasion, again finished off with a chin butt. Other times they just sit comfortably near each other.

I hope this is just normal squabbling, establishing pecking order, or the older pigs teaching a baby pig the "guinea pig way".

How much squabbling is normal, and will this settle down?

There has not been any biting and they have not been flying at each other, just chin butting and minor aggression.

I don't think Sadie's used to interaction with other pigs, and Babe's never had to live with another female.
