The boys have now got a baby sister in the form of a 12 week old syrian hamster.

She's a little cutie and is settling in well. Been exploring her cage and having a good run on her wheel. She's a good climber as she's been demonstrated but she hasn't quite worked out the ramp thing to get to the top level of her cage yet. I'm sure she will soon though.

I'll hopefully get some pictures of her soon. Don't want to bother her too much whilst she's settling in.

Oh, she's called Pumpkin by the way. That's what she'd been named before I adopted her and I didn't want to change it.

Awwwwww Pumpkin, what an adorable name! x) Congratulations on your little new arrival! Where did you adopt the little sweetie from? Cant wait for pictures of her ooo x)

She's so cute. Can't wait for cuddles with her.

I've had hamsters before but took a break from them to focus on the piggies but had been thinking about getting one again.

I'd hoped to adopt one from a rescue or the SSPCA around here but there were none available.

Ended up adopting Pumpkin from Pets at Home Adoption Centre. Fortunately for me, the Pets at Home in Aberdeen is very good and all the staff have been given training and are very knowledgeable, in fact in recent months things have improved even more. I also asked about whether the donation made all went to charity or only a portion of it. I was informed that it all went to the charity and the manager even showed me as he put it through the system.

Awwww thats lovely, it is hard i found getting hold of hamsters in rescues :(we only have one rescue in our' area' (sort of its a 45 min drive away), and when i looked last year and enquired they never had any in :(

Ooo I'm excited to see pics of the little sweetie, it must be lovely to have a hamster in your house again :)

Love hamsters, looking forward to seeing pictures when they've settled in!

Well Pumpkin is settling in well. She's had a good explore of her cage and has sussed out how to get onto the upper level.

She's been keeping me entertained this evening with her shenanigans. Instead of climbing inside her tubes, she rather climb on top of them. Also, she's fond of lying flat out under her wheel. When I first saw her do it, I thought there was something wrong with her or she'd got herself stuck...just about had a heart attack lol.

WELCOME PUMPKIN xoxoxoxo

Oh she sounds gorgeous...........can't wait for piccies drool
sheeeeeeesh she's already given you a fright......little monkey rolleyes

Finally managed to get some photos of the little fluffball that is Pumpkin. They aren't great quality as I was using my phone.

Hmm....I think I better secure her cage, so she doesn't get hamnapped :p Lol!

Hopefully get some better pictures when she's a bit tamer, she's still quite jumpy at the moment.
