I know people aren't the biggest fasns of P at H...but mum pops in there quite regularly to get the dogs food. She always ends up checking the adoption centre and she noticed these 4 GORGEOUS piggies in there, and week after week they were still there. Ended up enquiring about them and as they were 18 months old, no one was interested so they kept being left! They are also quite skitty and didn't overly like being handled...and everyone wanted cuddy baby Guinea Pigs.

Mum wanted a girly for her (neautered!) boar anyway, and Grandad wasn't too bothered about her having two! So she ended up taking the beautiful half black/half white one (now named Boo) and a Black/White/White brown girly with a funky mohican (now named Betty) - these two are now settled in with the handsome Ben and he is now at their beck and call and loving every second of it!

Anyway, mum ended up feeling bad for the other two and knew I could extended my C&C cage so they have now ended up with me :D After a few days of settling in...I have just redone my C&C cage, bought all new houses/toys/water bottles etc, plus extra ones (so there are two of each!) and they have been introduced to my crazy lot!

So far so good....there have been a couple of minor skirmishes and a lot of chin showing, but nothing major. Been together an hour now and only a few squeaks. Main issue is my neautered boar trying to continuously mount them..but I'm sure he'll end up with pee in his face soon lol. Leaving houses etc over night (they do have covered areas with plenty of exits though!) just to make sure there are no issues. Just keeping my fingers crossed it al stays peaceful!

So now to introduce to you to my lovely brood (not the worlds best photo - it was on my phone!):

Piggies.jpg

Ginger: Starsky
Black and Ginger: Juarez
Fluffy Thing: Cookie
Black/White/Brown with the funky hair do: Luna
Ginger and White: Daisy
Poking her nose out of the tube: Snowdrop

Definitely getting the name of crazy Guinea Pig Lady now!

You have a lovely group! I would think that after a few hours without any major aggression they will be ready to go into their (cleaned) home. Acceptance has happened within the first 15-20 minutes of interaction.

Your boy can be overexcited if the girls are in or close to their season. Some sows can also come into season spontaneously if they are close to it anyway. He'll settle down eventually!

Wow! Starsky is a lucky boy to have 2 more ladies to love. Lovely to see them all. x

One of them pee'd in his face early, don't think he's feeling too lucky right now lol. Bless him - the look of complete shock on his face was adorable :D

He's become such a sweetheart, comes running up to me for his treat in the evening and wheeks like crazy when I get up as he knows its breakfast time!

Aww... that's so cute. He was a lovely lad when he was here so I'm especially glad he's found such a fab forever home (and I still get to hear all about him because you're on the forum!). :(|)

It must be great being able to have them all in together. :)

A little update...

Well they have now been together in their cage for over 24 hours.

Here's a piccie of them sharing breakfast yesterday (ignore the mess of the cage, they were cleaned after they had devoured their veggies!):

Everything seems to be going ok! The two new girls were sleeping with various members of the old group during the day yesterday in the wooden houses.

There have been some high pitched squeals from the new girls and bum nipping by the old ones...I'm presuming this is normal and they are establishing their heirarchy? Gave them all a checkover this morning and can't find any obvious wounds or chunks out of ears.

There was a bit of an issue with one of the pigloos - seemed to be causing a bit of squealing, so I took that out and have covered that corner with a towel..so they still have a dark and covered area to chill in, but its a much larger space with plenty of exits! Since then - that seems to have clamed down!

No one seems to be going without food and they are happy to share the veg bowl with no one being pushed out. They are also all sleeping well together.

Guess I'm nervous as today is my first day back at work since I introduced them and I want to make sure all is going ok :)

Thanks guys :D

They should be having bath time, nail clips and fur trims this weekend! If they sit still enough I'll try and get some decent individual shots of my littles ones and introduce them properly!
