I now feel ready to have another guinea (well two, but you know what I mean) and a friend of a friend is rehoming hers due to her children losing interest. So I'm going to collect them tonight. I'm really excited! Any suggestions for names (as I'm going to re-name them, so that they feel like mine) They are both girlies and around 18 months old.
So, name suggestions please!

I'm quite liking Mabel and Meredith or Connie and Cora kinda thing, like old lady names!

Can you upload pics without something like photo bucket? x

Hi, yes you can, Well I did but that was ages ago. I love the idea of old lady names, but don't choose mine eh, I might be offended, then again maybe not xx>>> ( Lilian)

Pictures required for naming ceremony defo.

Gurty and Grace. Elizabeth and Victoria , Molly and Dolly, Ethel and Enid,
Felicity and Frances

Getting bit carried away now lol drool :x

you make me laugh.... I think Lilian is nice, but then again, it is my middle name!
I too have a very old name and it really riled me when the Kennedys called their dog Audrey (Neighbours). But worse, my sister is called Agnes... how's that for oldies' names?

I am looking forward to pics!

Nothing wrong about old ladies' names. How about Doris and Dilys? Or Glenda and Gladys? Ivy and Iris? Hetty and Harriet? Alice and Agatha?

Oooh looking forward to pics. I like old ladies names too, that's how Marble became Mabel.

There was a film called Connie and Carla with Toni Collette in about two women who witness a murder so run away and disguise themselves as drag queens! Very funny. :))
That would be a great double act to name them after.

Wow thanks my lovelies, so many fab names to choose from! Hmmmm, not sure I want them named after killing drag queens lol! I love Mabel, Enids fab, also Doris, like you'd say, oh dippy Doris, or dotty Doris! Oh and Dolly is fab! My names on the list .......... Victoria (just incase anyone was wondering if I was anb Enid or Agnes lol)

I've put a pic of one of the girlies in my avatar (my OH said she looks like she has a little hat on, so he said Hattie, so could have Hattie and Hettie ... hmmm, no maybe too similar! I'll keep deciding lol! x

I love old fashioned names and tend to use them for my pets. I've had a Harriet, Matilda, Amelia, Jemima, Molly, Mabel, Charlotte, Winifred, Beatrix, Georgia, Olivia, Meg, Isobel, Ethel (though I've always called her Effy) and Morag.

Trying to add a photo - without much luck lol x

I'm clearly doing something wrong! xx

Have you got a photobucket account? Its easy to make. Then all you need to do is upload to there and then post the img code in your post.

The piggie in your photo is gorgeous. x) I love tricolours. I'm jealous (even with all my girls)

x.

Cheers mrs m, what can I say? The oldies are the goodies, a bit like Chanel, timeless classics, many try to copy but fail to have flair!

I love Audrey as a name, even better when meeting people and they think they are going to meet a grey haired short, wrinkly, walking stick, glasses sitting on the edge of the nose woman...but hey that's just I'm having a bad week when I've forgotten the hair dye on way home from work, and been doing the pig den clean out with the 3 furies having made an escape, tripped over the husbands crutch and glasses falling off my face *** of the bending Down. The wrinkles...well laughter lines I say!

Sorry got off thread...:{

Well thanks to Emiley who is a computer whizz kid clearly! - here are the two ladies! What do they look like to you? (names wise lol) Already we can tell that the white one is the one with the attitude and the tri is more laid back x

thanks Emiley x

No problem :))

I like Cathy for the tri and Katie for the white :)

What a sweet couple!

What about Hattie and Hilda?

I think they will be Hattie and Hilda (but will run it by OH first!) He's just outside sorting the outdoor hutch out.

Ok a question for you people.... they were kept in a double hutch, with a ramp down to the run (not a massive fan myself) anyway we have inherited the hutch with the guineas. They are around 18 months old and have been kept outside in all weathers, including the awful snow we had last year. We like the idea of having them outside (As we're moving house and inside it quite upside down) also they are used to being outside. BUT we think they might get cold, so we've set up an 'indoor' cage, well its int he garage., So the plan is to put them outside during the day, in tghe garage over night, but then inside for floor time and cuddles. Which will be kinda the best part of the evening. Will all the changes in temperature harm them? cos they are so used to being outside and never ***** in could we do more harm than good by bringing them in and then popping them in the garage. Does that even make sense or have I just waffled on for an eternity! thanks for reading as far as you have! x

Piggies don't like sudden changes in temp, the garage should be fine though. As for taking them inside your house, bring them in a few times for short periods just so they get used to it. There will also be more new smells to get used to.

Hehe, I love old names too! I have a Mabel and Dottie at the moment :)) and my hamster (no longer here with us) was called....REGINALD! It really suited him!

Only problem is I'm currently working on an elderly ward so I often hear all the old names and I can't help thinking about my pets/or if I name my pets that name I'm thinking about the patient, haha!

Thanks - I wonder what word I put for it to be starred, it wasn't a swear word honestly.

Thanks, I'm a teacher, so I'm hearing a real come back of the old names, have recently taught an Ivy, Martha, Alfred, Fred etc! x

Awwwwww they are gorgeous good luck choosing names! :)) x)
