It's been a difficult few weeks, loosing two lovely little piggies, I had become very down with the whole situation and had even considered giving up our remaining pigs due to the problems we've been having finding a good local vet.

However things are looking up, we have now registered with a new vet who seems alot more piggy savvy. Also we decided it was time to find a new friend for our boar who was now on his own. Our local rescue had a suitable female of a similar age (about 3). She's called Peggy and other than having slightly raggy ears seems to be in good health.

It's always a bit worrying putting guinea pigs together for the first time, but its been over 24 hours and we've had no issues so far other than the usual squeaking and rumbling. Fingers crossed it goes well.

Anyway she's a little sweetie, here she is:

She's beautiful Glad you have found a new vet and are able to keep your pigs.

I don't like subjecting the pigs to a long car journey if I can help it so I felt that having a local vet that was knowledgable and piggy savvy was essential. They are a little further than our previous 2 and slightly more expensive but it's attitude and results that count. I hope they are as good as initial impressions suggest.

Awww bless! She is gorgeous! Good on you for giving her a loving home :-) I do hope everything continues to go alright with the introductions! We've done quite a few now but it's still nerve-wraking isn't it!

What a lovely lady! I assume that your boy is neutered?

My specialist vet is quite a distance (I have to go by train) and more expensive than my local general vets, but it is worth it as several of my piggies would not have lived as long. Piggies travel better than you think. Make sure that you always take both together.

I am glad you have got something sorted and you decided to get Peggy. She has such a sweet face and has now got a loving home with you.

You have had a really rough time losing Misty and Minty recently, I am sorry.

Peggy is a real sweetie by the looks of her. Glad to hear all is going well so far, please keep us all updated. Would love to see more of Peggy in the future!

Yes Parsnip (I didn't name him) :xd: is neutered. They still seem to be getting on fine although Peggy has put him in his place for his amorous advances a couple of times
